Dote Coffee Bar sits tucked inside the Redmond Tech Station, just where the bustle of Microsoft’s campus pulses daily. While tucked behind badge-controlled entry points that mainly serve Microsoft employees, the café is still accessible to the public—just be ready to time your entrance as staff won’t directly buzz non-employees in. This location feels less like a neighborhood hangout and more like a well-crafted pit stop for tech workers and transit commuters who need a solid coffee break between their busy days or shifts.

The interior is clean and thoughtfully arranged, offering a quiet retreat especially on slower weekdays. It doesn’t do heavy foot traffic or crowds—so if you visit on a Monday morning or midday lull, there’s a calmness that contrasts with the often hectic workplace nearby. Seating feels modern and minimal, suited for grabbing a quick drink or catching a moment of calm while waiting for a bus or train, whose schedules are even displayed inside for convenience.

The drink menu leans on quality and variety rather than novelty. Expect well-balanced lattes with gentle art on top, pleasing those who prefer a staple coffee with subtle flourishes. The 12 oz latte is popular, alongside interesting options like the turmeric ginger latte and honey dark mocha. For those in search of a light bite, the selection includes classic café pastries such as croissants, macarons, and doughnuts—though on quieter days, fresh baked goods may be limited.

Visitors usually swing by for a reliable, well-made coffee to energize their day or soften a transfer between buses and trains. The clientele mostly mirrors the local tech crowd—focused on efficiency but appreciative of small comforts like a caramel latte or a matcha latte when they can snag one. Outdoor seating is not a feature here, which fits with the indoor transit center vibe.

All told, Dote Coffee Bar is best for people passing through Redmond’s transit hub or working in the immediate tech campus vicinity who want more than a machine-dispensed brew. It’s less about leisurely café hours and more a spot for a solid, thoughtfully prepared drink in a quiet environment that’s functional—and when the baked goods are fresh, a reasonable snack option. If you’re aiming for a casual coffee pause amidst Redmond’s tech pulse, Dote fits the bill neatly.

Okay, this specific location is for Microsoft employees, accessible only through a badge, and located at Redmond Tech Station. But man, I loved the coffee! Felt so heartwarming to have a good latte and little art on top of it when the general campus standards across the globe are a brewed coffee from the machine, that won’t even go in without a chocolate. Ah! Good. As always, had a 12oz hot latte with regular milk. The barista was super nice, and a plenty of seating space. Will not shy away from the other 3 locations moving forward, 2 of which are accessible to the general public. Yuhu! Good coffee on campus!

They just made it so that you need to tap a microsoft badge in order to be let through the front door just fyi. Non microsoft affiliated people are still allowed inside, but staff can’t let you in so you have to wait for someone to exit to let you in. Wish they had a sign posted about this :(

Contrary to one review, this location is open to all. I suspect Microsoft Employees have badge access after hours, which may have caused confusion. Not much around here other than Microsoft, but a convenient spot to grab coffee if you happen to be waiting for a transfer to a bus.

Dote coffee is always good, this place was a great discovery on my end...its quiet on a Monday workday, space is amazing and clean. I can't believe they have been here since Sept 2023. Downside of slowday is they dont have much fresh bakery food. They even have the schedule of the bus. Lots of busy MS workers getting to work, big bus, and trains merge..
